Centralia Fire Fighters in 1907
First organized on June 21, 1889, the City of Centralia Fire Department is a proud and historic
group of professional fire fighters. Local 0451 was granted a charter by the International
Association of Fire Fighters on October 24, 1935 and became a member of the Washington State
Council of Fire Fighters in 1939.
Local 0451 currently has 25 members and is the largest IAFF local in Lewis County.

2011 Call Volume up 12%
The Riverside Fire Authority saw a total increase in the number of incidents by 12% in 2011 from
3,313 calls for service in 2010, up to 3,703 in 2011. EMS calls totalled 83% of total calls for service
at 3, 061. There were 129 fires and the balance of calls (513) consisted of hazardous conditions,
false alarms and service calls.
